Lise - NightFURY

Second chapter of the NightFURY universe: after the ship, its pilot. Lieutenant Lise AirFryer, a former high-altitude interceptor pilot, is selected by the DreamForces space division to merge with the craft designed by Nicole Market - in her hands, the NightFURY moves like a hunting creature rather than a war machine.

Originally, the Daft Punk workshop only called for a helmet. I found that limiting: it needed a proper support to be presented - and what better than a character? I challenged myself to recreate my girlfriend in 3D, with as much detail as possible. The helmet itself echoes the mech-dragon's fins: the pilot wears her ship.

The project became a full character-side learning ground: grooming and cloth preparation in Houdini, fabric simulation, helmet FX, and final compositing in Nuke.
